Privacy Policy

JUGL Studio makes comics, games, and wellness content for children, elders, and the families in between. We try to write plainly, and that goes for this page too. Here is what we collect, why, and what you can ask us to do about it.

Who we are

JUGL Studio (“we,” “us”) runs this website. For anything in this policy, reach us at hello@juglstudio.com. We are the data controller for the information described here.

What we collect

Your email address — only when you choose to give it: to join our list, to download a free comic, or to be notified about something in progress. We also record which thing you signed up for (for example, a comic, a game, or our general updates) so we send you what is relevant and nothing else.

Order and delivery details — when you buy something, we collect what you ordered, your name, contact details, and (for printed editions) the shipping address we send it to. Payment is handled by our payment processor; we never see or store your full card number.

Basic usage data — when you visit, our analytics collect things like the pages you view, your approximate region, device and browser type, and how you arrived. This is aggregate and helps us understand what is useful. See “Cookies and analytics” below.

We do not run user accounts or passwords on this site. If that changes, we will update this policy first.

How we use it

  • To send the free content or updates you asked for.
  • To let you know when something you expressed interest in is ready.
  • To understand, in aggregate, how the site is used so we can improve it.

We never sell your personal information, and we do not share it for anyone else’s advertising.

Our legal basis (GDPR / UK GDPR)

For email signups we always rely on your consent — you opt in, and every email has a one-click unsubscribe. For analytics, the basis depends on where you are: in the EU, UK, and similar regions we ask for your consent first and load nothing until you accept; elsewhere we rely on our legitimate interest in improving the site, and you can opt out at any time (see “Cookies and analytics” and “Your rights”).

Who we share it with

We use a small number of trusted service providers (“processors”) to run the basics:

  • Kit (formerly ConvertKit) — stores our email list and sends our emails.
  • Google Analytics — measures site usage.
  • A payment processor — to take payment securely when you buy. They handle your card details; we don’t.
  • Shipping and print partners — to print and deliver physical orders to your address.
  • An email-validation service — when you sign up, we check the email’s domain (only the part after the @, never your full address) to block disposable throwaway inboxes.
  • Our website host, for serving the pages you are reading.

If you join our community on Discord, that takes place on Discord’s platform and is governed by Discord’s own privacy policy, not this one.

International transfers

Some of these providers process data on servers outside your country, including in the United States. Where that involves transferring data out of the EEA or UK, it is done under appropriate safeguards such as Standard Contractual Clauses.

Cookies and analytics

We use Google Analytics to measure usage. If you are in the EU, UK, or a similar region, we show a banner on your first visit and analytics only loads — and only sets cookies — if you choose “Accept.” Elsewhere, analytics may load by default, and you can opt out at any time using the controls below. Either way, we do not use advertising or cross-site tracking cookies.

You can also clear your choice in your browser settings, use Google’s opt-out add-on, and we honour your browser’s “Do Not Track” preference where supported.

Children’s privacy

Although we make content for children, this website and our signups are intended for adults — parents, grandparents, carers, and educators buying or exploring on a child’s behalf. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has given us their information, contact us at hello@juglstudio.com and we will delete it promptly.

How long we keep it

We keep your email for as long as you stay subscribed. When you unsubscribe or ask us to delete it, we remove it from our active list. Order records are kept for as long as we need them to support your purchase and to meet tax and accounting obligations. Analytics data is retained in aggregate per our analytics provider’s standard retention settings.

Your rights

Depending on where you live (including under the GDPR, UK GDPR, and California’s CCPA/CPRA), you can ask us to:

  • Access the personal data we hold about you.
  • Correct it if it is wrong.
  • Delete it.
  • Unsubscribe — instantly, from any email we send.
  • Object to or restrict how we use it, or request a copy to take elsewhere.
  • Withdraw consent at any time.

We do not sell or “share” personal information as those terms are defined under California law. To exercise any right, email hello@juglstudio.com. You also have the right to complain to your local data protection authority.

Changes to this policy

If we change how we handle your data, we will update this page and move the “last updated” date above. For significant changes, we will say so clearly.
